Visit the ancient Indian Ruins and Cliff Dwelling at Montezuma's Well and Montezuma's Castle: (5 miles from Luna Vista B & B) Nestled into a limestone recess high above the flood plain of Beaver Creek in the Verde Valley, Montezuma's Castle served as a "high-rise apartment building" for prehistoric Sinagua Indians more than 600 years ago. After the Castle, take a short drive over to Montezuma's Well. Montezuma's Well is a sinkhole, a collapsed underground limestone cavern filled with water. More than a million gallons of water a day flow continuously, providing a lush, verdant oasis in the midst of surrounding desert grassland. 

Go Horseback Riding or take riding lessons - available for all riding experience levels ranging from casual trail tours - to - professional and advanced riding. dressage, barreling, roping, and rodeo riding lessons from area ranchers, horsemen and rodeo stars. For a relaxing and different experience in the natural beauty of the Verde Valley you are invited to take a leisurely hike with pack llamas to a picnic with a view. Take advantage of unusual photo opportunities with llamas dressed in pack gear and colorful, exotic trappings as your companions. You may choose to lead a llama yourself or just hike along while we lead the animals. 

Lunch of cold cuts, fruits, cheeses, assorted delicacies and choices of beverage will be yours to enjoy at creek side or on a hilltop, as you choose. There are trails for real easy walking, or shorter hikes or more challenging according to the desires of our guests.

The experience will require approximately 5-6 hours for pick up from Luna Vista, unhurried walking, lunch and getting to know the llamas and return in time for Luna Vista's social hour and a relaxing soak in the hot-tub or spa. Longer hikes may be scheduled upon request. Depending on climate and schedules of participants, the time of the day for hikes is flexible. Wear comfortable walking footwear and bring your camera and sun protection.

Browse the galleries of The Artisans Guild of Camp Verde - a cooperative gallery located on Old Main Street Camp Verde. Shop the new Ancient Bear Gallery for great art at great prices. Sit down, sip a cup of fresh brewed coffee and check out the hard and not so hard to find rare and used books of A Step In Time used bookstore. From Camp Verde, journey to the Hot Springs near Childs  for both adventure and relaxation. In the evening (or anytime), be entertained by one of the many shows, enjoy world-class cuisine and/or try your luck at the Cliff Castle Casino - just 5 miles from Luna Vista Bed and Breakfast.

Spend an afternoon Wine Tasting at the local wineries: Echo Canyon in Sedona, San Dominique Winery in Camp Verde and Oak Creek Winery in Page Springs. Or, enjoy live jazz, light fare and any of your favorite domestic or imported wines and beers at the Salt Mine Wine Cellars of Camp Verde.
