HOSPITALITY - Xenia consists of three basic rules.

The host must be hospitable to the guest and provide them with food and drink and a bath, if required. It is not polite to ask questions until the guest has stated their needs.

The guest must be courteous to their host and not be a burden.

The parting gift to show the host's honor at receiving the guest. This was especially important in the ancient times when it was believed that gods mingled amongst humans on earth.

Your Hosts - Kala and Frank

Frank & KalaBoth Kala and Frank absolutely love creating festive environments, entertaining, cooking, bringing people together and sharing their home. As seasoned vacation and business travelers, they shared a common goal of eventually operating a "club med" type bed and breakfast in their retirement years - featuring the best of amenities, their eclectic collections and unsurpassed hospitality.

On September 11th, 2001, while living and working in New York City, they were strongly reminded that the quality of their lives was not to be measured by their financial net worth but by the strength and excellence of their life experiences and character. As tomorrows were never promised, Kala and Frank decided that the time was 'now' to fulfill their dreams of establishing a people oriented B & B and enjoy the added bonus of living amidst the wondrous beauty and cultural riches of Arizona - specifically the Sedona Verde Valley - along Beaver Creek.Frank

Kala is a former resident of Arizona and Wisconsin and a 4th generation native born Panamanian. Prior to Luna Vista, she served over 25 years as an executive manager in international trade, commerce and imports with a Fortune500 company, and as a director and advisor to executive public administrators, economic development professionals and community organizations. Frank, a former resident of Virginia and a native of Philadelphia PA, is an IT professional, specializing in large security and revenue control networks and transportation systems for over 20 years. Both are avid collectors of music, art and stuff…, and have put their talents, passions and leisurely pursuits together to create a luxurious yet comfortable environment as a joyous gathering place for sharing. Kala

The area, like the hosts at Luna Vista, exhumes a sense of belonging and awakening. Famous for their genuine hospitality, these warm, friendly and attentive hosts will always respect your privacy but hold an open invitation to utilize their home as your own, enjoy their company and the company of others and recharge your mind - body and spirit. Their motto: - Come as Guests - Stay as Friends - Return as Family.

The Beaver Creek Valley community of artisans, ranchers and remarkable individuals also play hosts providing a wealthy exchange of goods, services and conversation to the delight of guests. Area neighbors have wonderful stories of Arizona's native and western cultures, history and art, which they love to share with visitors and guests of Luna Vista Bed and Breakfast.

Their motto: Come as Guests - Stay as Friends - Return as Family.
